Artwork Submition Guidelines
Please email artwork to email@example.com or directly to your sales rep.
Some quotes require artwork to quote accurately if we need to see your artwork you will be notified by your sales rep. Please review the guidelines below to help ensure you get the best quality print. Please review our color matching page for details on how to get accurate colors.
- Artwork must be sent Print-Ready as described below.
- Vector or Line-Art artwork is recommended as it produces high-quality output.
- Raster artwork or bitmap artwork can be used and should be sent at a minimum of 300ppi (Pixels per Inch) and with little or no compression.
- Color output is not guaranteed. Colors can be matched accurately by using a vector or line-art file with colors specified from the Pantone® Solid Coated Color Swatch Book.
The recommended bleed is 0.05 inches.
Rich blacks must be specified in CMYK as C:0%, M:0%, Y:0%, K:100%.
Specify all correct Pantone® color matches in artwork so they can be interpreted correctly, CMYK equivalents will not yield good results. See Color Matching
We recommend a pre-production sample if colors are a concern. For best results always include Pantone® colors in your artwork and always embed profiles. We recommend supplying artwork created in, or converted to the “Coated FOGRA39 (ISO 12647-2:2004)” color space with the profile embedded. For RGB artwork we recommend creating or converting your artwork to the “sRGB IEC61966-2.1” color space with the profile embedded. CMYK artwork will yield the most predictable color replication results. Color matching is not guaranteed.
All files must be submitted in a PC compatible file format. Vector or Line-Art formats supported are:
- Adobe Illustrator (.AI)
- Encapsulated Post Script (.EPS)
- Portable Document Format (.PDF)
- CorelDRAW (.CDR)
Raster art embedded into any of the above vector formats is NOT considered vector or line-art. The above file formast may contain raster art or vector artwork. Provide vector art whenever possible, especially if Pantones® are specified.
Raster Art formats supported are:
- Photoshop (.PSD)
- Portable Network Graphic (.PNG)
- Joint Photographic Experts Group (Created with minimal compression) (.JPG)
- Tagged Image File Format (.TIF)
- Graphics Interchange Format (.GIF)
- Windows Bitmap (.BMP)
We classify Print-Ready artwork as high quality, clean artwork designed for the intended shape or label, sized or proportioned to your specifications. Critical colors must be specified and included in the artwork file. Critical Colors also need to be colors specified out of the Pantone® Solid Coated Color Swatch Book.
Quality artwork is artwork in a vector format, or a raster art of 300ppi or greater with no lossy compression. Quality artwork generally does NOT include artwork taken from a website, artwork that has been faxed, or artwork that has been scanned.
Clean artwork is artwork without compression artifacts caused by compressing raster art in a lossy compression file format (.jpg). Clean artwork does not have blemishes or flaws generally caused by scanning or faxing artwork. Clean artwork should have all fonts or text flattened or converted to curves in a vector file and outlines should be expanded so width changes do not occur when converting or scaling.
Artwork that is not print ready will either not be usable by us, or will require an artist to make the artwork print-ready which may incur an artwork fee.
